With rare wines, a cosy atmosphere, and customs of wine culture started the celebration of Saint Tryphon Zarezan day held in the Wine Tasting Center, Veliko Tarnovo. We joined them and took a sip of rare wines and Bulgarian traditions.

The feast started with a short discussion on wine and winemaking culture in the region. More than twenty guests of various ages and backgrounds came to the event, but the hospitable atmosphere erased all their differences. The ringing glasses sounded like musicians accompanied by the silent music that echoed in the Wine Center.

After a quick introduction by the host, each of the five winemakers presented their winery products. The tasting started with three white varieties, followed by four red ones.

The first glass helped us regain our energy and set us in the right mood. After the fourth one, we began to understand why wine is the drink of the gods. While emptying the seventh glass, we regretted that we were not Bulgarians. If there were three more glasses to drink, we would have felt like Gods ourselves.
